Celebrating the wonderful world of books is one of my favourite festivals and this year I shared World Book Day events with pupils at two schools: Cardinal Newman Primary School in Hersham, Surrey, and St John's Primary School in Shirley, Surrey.

There was a lot of stamping, marching, creeping and tip-toeing amongst the infants as they rose to Mr Cheddar's challenge to be as noisy as elephants and as quiet as mice... but the mice weren't quite as quiet as they could have been!

Children in the juniors showed their vivid imaginations as they visited my Shop of Ideas and used music to discover various ideas for settings, emotions and characters.
